West Suburban Bank Armed Robbery

Darien Police Department
Press Release
July 12, 2017

At 9:11 a.m. on July 12, 2017 the Darien Police Department responded to the West Suburban Bank located at 1005 75th Street for the report of an Armed Bank Robbery.  A male black subject entered the bank, jumped the teller counter, displayed a handgun and demanded money.  After taking an undetermined amount of cash the subject jumped back over the teller counter and fled on foot south east bound from the bank.  The handgun was recovered at the scene and it was determined the handgun was not a real handgun but a replica.  Nobody was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as:
Male black, 25 years of age, approximately 5’07”, wearing a black hoodie with a white logo on the back, black pants, black or blue cloth gym shoes, carrying a black backpack.  A white and black zebra striped bandana covered the lower portion of his face and he taped all of his fingertips with black tape. It appears as if the male may also have a skin condition.

This case has been turned over to the FBI.  Anybody with information is asked to call the Darien Police Department at 630-971-3999, or the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
