Update on Wal-Mart Incident

Subject – Shooting at Wal-Mart
Date and Time – Thursday 12-3-15, 5:41PM
Location – 2189 75th St.  Darien, Illinois

Darien Police were dispatched to the Darien Wal-Mart for a shots fired call inside the store. Upon arrival officers found one victim with a single gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove by Westmont Fire Department.

Witnesses reported the offender fled the store prior to the police arriving. Offender is described as a male black.   Darien officers along with officers from surrounding jurisdictions cleared the store. No other victims were located.

Police a currently on the scene interviewing witnesses and processing the scene.

12-4-15 – 11:30AM – Update –

Victim is in stable condition at the hospital.
The offender is still at large but detectives are following up leads.
The shooting was a result of a physical altercation inside the store.
Wal-Mart is open for business
