The City of Darien is excited to announce the launch of our new online permitting system, OpenGov. Beginning Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 3:00pm, residents and contractors will be able to apply for permits, upload documents, pay fees, and schedule inspections all through one convenient online portal.
During our transition, we anticipate some growing pains as we move from paper-based applications to a fully digital system. We kindly ask for your patience as staff and the public adjust to this new process. In rare cases, the City may need to temporarily disable online applications if serious issues are identified. If that occurs, we will promptly notify the community and provide alternate instructions.
This change represents a major step forward in making City services more accessible, and efficient—and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make the move together.
