The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that repairs to the bridge carrying Cass Avenue over Interstate 55, in Darien, will begin, weather permitting, on Monday, March 30.
To complete the work, Cass Avenue will be reduced from two lanes to one in both directions with various lane shifts approaching the bridge. The ramps to and from Cass Avenue will remain open during construction and the public can expect occasional overnight lane closures on I-55 at Cass Avenue.
The $1.8 million project, which consists of joint replacement, pier repairs and installing a new deck overlay, is anticipated to be completed in late August.
