Each year, this event gives our community an opportunity to recognize an individual who has made substantial contributions to the city over a period of time. It is a chance for us to pause and say thank you to someone whose dedication, volunteerism, and commitment have helped make our community a better place to live.
Over the next several months, two important events offer a chance for your participation to make a real difference: our Annual Dancing with the Darien Starz and our 54th Annual Citizen of the Year Banquet.
Every once in a while, something happens that reminds us of what community is really all about. Recently, a devastating fire at the Windsor Lakes Apartment Homes in Woodridge displaced more than sixty individuals and families. In a matter of hours, people lost their homes and many of the belongings that were part of their everyday lives.
