After years of dedicated leadership and service, Chief Greg Thomas has announced his retirement, effective November 13, 2026.
Chief Thomas was originally appointed as Interim Chief in November 2015 for what was expected to be a temporary 3–6 month assignment following his retirement as Aurora's Police Chief. What began as a short-term commitment grew into more than a decade of exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to our department and community.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Chief Thomas for his unwavering commitment and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement. Congratulations, Chief Thomas, and thank you for your years of outstanding service!
