Over the past five and a half years, it has been my privilege to connect with you each week through our Darien Direct Connect. I have been deeply encouraged by the positive feedback from residents and non-residents, many of whom have shared how these personal stories have resonated with their own lives. From the beginning, my goal in writing has always been simple: to show that those of us in public service share the same hopes, fears, and dreams as the community we serve.
Many of you have encouraged me over the years to compile these messages into a book, and I am grateful to a close friend and fellow Rotarian, as well as a talented editor, for helping to bring this project to life. This first volume represents that collective encouragement and support.
I look forward to sharing details soon on how you can purchase a copy. I am also excited to continue this journey, with plans already underway for a second volume that will include messages from the past three years.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and inspired me along the way; my family and friends, many of whom have been included in these messages have been my inspiration as well as my greatest supporters. I remain committed to sharing stories and themes that connect us, reflect our shared experiences, and continue to bring our community closer together.
